I am planning my next seven day Cuba Photography Course in December 2020. Please register your interest in this course or more courses next year. We will photograph in Havana with a 2-day trip to either Vinales or Trinidad.
Cuba is a fascinating country with a rich history. Most of daily life occurs on the streets. This society leads to more social engagement and opportunities for colourful, vibrant images. The images on my homepage show baseball, boxing, barbers, dominoes, and children playing. There are classic cars, graffiti, fisherman, architecture, market sellers, etc. My brief history of Cuba attempts to summarise why Cuba is such a unique Caribbean island.
My name is Paul Stott, and I have been a professional photographer for 14 years. During this time, I have photographed over 300 weddings. Over the last few years, my love of street photography has grown. Recently I have travelled to India, Turkey, and Cuba photographing on the streets. Outside photography, I compete in triathlon events. My wife, Eralys Fernandez, is a well known Cuban concert pianist. Her family lives in Guanabacoa, a suburb of Havana. We have a 6-year-old son called Sebastian.
I am a people person and very approachable. I aim to be enthusiastic and enable you to get the most out of the workshop. Appreciating that people will have different levels of experience and skills, all the critique and advice will try and push your level higher. The course is not a competition. Therefore the environment will be relaxed but informative. At specific points during the workshops, I will have the assistance of a Cuban national. We will photograph, eat, critique photos, and enjoy evening excursions. For more information about the course, please look at the FAQ page.
